Ferruccio Lamborghini was founded in 1963 by an Italian businessman named Ferruccio Lamborghini. He founded the company to design and manufacture cars that would rival famous car brands such as Ferrari. In the mid-sixties, the company launched its first model and quickly gained fame for its elegant design, extreme comfort, and impeccable performance. The company became even more famous when it launched its first sports car, the Miura Sports Coupe, in 1966.
